What Makes You Think I’m Conservative

3:51

Song Description:

An admittedly stereotypical description of a conservative,

but one that applies to many of us.

————————————————————————–

Lyrics:

Stereotyping is risky

when you form your first impressions.

It gets harder to stray from such traps

as the years pile up behind you.

So let me just cut to the chase,

and eliminate confusion.

My beliefs are my own personal business,

but they’re bound to affect our relations.

Political parties like asses and elephants

don’t solve the issues we face,

and Liberals want to tear everything down,

and putting Marxists in charge of the place.

I was raised by a mother and father

that were loving and kind to me.

They expected my honest allegiance

to things that they taught me at home.

I learned about being respectful,

and thankful and generous, too.

They instilled what integrity meant,

long before I ever met you.

I was soon introduced to the Bible,

and the message God sent with his son.

Authors Lewis, and Strobel, and Warren and Hopper

reinforced the path I was on.

Other thoughts like belief in our country,

even though it has flaws that are human,

I heard from the men who experienced battle

in countries and wars overseas

Political parties like asses and elephants

don’t solve the issues we face,

and Liberals want to tear everything down,

putting Marxists in charge of the place.

Thus I’m happy to be where I am.

I appreciate what I’ve been gifted.

I resent those who’d tear down the nation we’re in,

When they don’t understand what we’ve got.

No, they don’t understand what we’ve got.

I love apple pie, I honor our flag,

and my guns are for hunting and defense.

If you don’t understand and agree with my thinking,

I’m guessing that puts you on offense.
