Wasted Words

5:01

Song Description:

Have you ever noticed how some individuals always like

to use words that add absolutely nothing to the conversation?

————————————————————————————————

Lyrics:

Some things that you say

and others have heard

are classed as hot air, ‘cuz

they’re just wasted words.

“Could I ask you a question”,

is one of those lines

that shouldn’t be out there.

You’re just wasting my time.

What is it about your mouth?

     Is it still connected

to your brain, or can the link

     still be resurrected?

“Where do I begin?

is needless as well,

and “Needless to say”,

has nothing to tell.

The more that you listen

you’ll see what I mean.

Why say “I’ve been thinking”?

The proof is soon seen.

When what’s said is to the point

     we will understand.

     Everyone will catch your drift,

     no ‘if’s”, no “but’s”, no “and’s”.

“To be perfectly honest”,

leads me to suspect

your previous statements

should all be fact-checked.

There’s some people’s favorite,

I cringe when I hear,

when they use the phrase

“I’ll be perfectly clear”.

What is it about your mouth?

     Is it still connected

with your brain, or can the link

     still be resurrected?

There’s plenty of others

to add to the list,

but if you don’t say them

they will not be missed.

Why is it you utter

things making no sense?

If I’m too obnoxious

please mount a defense.

     When you’re trying to impress

and not sound like a freak

    use the maxim every time,

     “THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

What is it about your mouth?

     Is it still connected

with your brain, or can the link

     still be resurrected?
