Lyrics:

Though all mankind has issues with the seven deadly sins,

God blessed us with abilities to keep the faith with him.

Virtues are available to counteract our sinning.

Archangels could intervene to guarantee our winning.

      Vices or virtues,

      which will win out?

      Satan will tempt you;

      that’s what it’s about.

Ask Gabriel on Sunday to assist you as you try

evoking your Humility to overcome your Pride.

Get Michael’s help on Monday to ensure you’re on the path.

He’ll help God bring you Patience you can use to conquer Wrath.

         Virtues or vices

         what will you choose?

         Recommend virtues.

         With vices you lose.

On Tuesday Raphael can push you, if you’re getting soft.

With prompts to boost your Diligence, and thus replacing Sloth.

With Uriel to be your coach, it’s time for change on Wednesday.

Commit yourself to acts of Kindness, jettison your Envy.

Your Thursday task is Temp’rance, Raguel can oversee,

and help you fight the urge to binge, the curse of Gluttony.

Friday, Remiel’s the one, so get the help you need

to help you model Charity, forget your foolish Greed.

         Vices or virtues,

         why are you torn?

         If you’ve been baptized

         to virtues you’re sworn.

So Saturday, it’s Sariel to call on if you must,

to find the strength in Chastity you’ll need to sidestep Lust.

As your virtues battle vices, you are trapped in mortal fear.

You really need to contact God, he’s listening, he will hear.

         Virtues or vices

         which will hold sway?

         Facing a crisis?

         Remember to pray.

When Psychomachia was penned by one known as Prudentius,

he illustrated how this struggle’s always so contentious.

“Wondrous the mixture, intricate and nice,

where ends the virtue and begins the vice.”
