The Thinker

4:21

Song Description:

How deep is the concern of our contemporary civilization

for things that are happening around us? Just as the famous

Rodin sculpture depicts a man deep in thought, what questions

or debates might we be struggling with? Are we disgusted with

the answers? Are we truly thinking?

Lyrics:

Frozen on a pedestal with shiny metal skin the one of famous thoughtfulness
forever locked within.

We wonder what he ponders, and why he looks so grim. There’s prob’ly something on his mind
to make him grip his chin.

The Thinker! The Thinker!

Though it seems his lips are sealed, that’s really not the point. He’s meant to help us cogitate,
no answer to appoint.

But wait!! Perhaps that’s what Rodin is whisp’ring in our ear, reminding us we should slow down,
our mental state to clear.

The Thinker! The Thinker!

All the warring countries in the world could use some aid in sorting out their arguments,
to cause their hate to fade.

Patience lends itself to peace, and peace means understanding, and understanding leads to love,
hist’ry not withstanding.

The Thinker! The Thinker!

Moms and dads may have it right when children fret and pout, by putting kids on notice, and
requiring a time out.

We wish it were that easy to settle all the strife, but many other factors work
to complicate this life.

The Thinker! The Thinker!

The Thinker is inscrutable, his pose is calm it seems, but possibly that’s just a sham.

He’s caught up in a dream.

The answers have eluded him. He’s really just like us. He’s lucky to sit where he does,
avoiding all the fuss.

The Thinker! The Thinker!

The Thinker! The Thinker!

The Thinker! The Thinker!

The Thinker! The Thinker!
