Slickers and Bumpkins Revisited
Public Relations Details 7:43Song Description:
As Christians we should not be afraid of defending and
holding on to our convictions.

Lyrics:
The word has gotten out and now you slickers are a runnin’
to somewhere there’s less risk of flu or crime.
I guess it’s hard to blame you when the rabble causing riots
Aren’t even going to jail to do some time.
Well, you thought you’d lost your day job, but they let you work from home.
This Covid thing had people freaked, and masks were now the norm.
The thing that all us bumpkins want you slickers to remember
That life outside the city’s not the same.
We like our politicians doing more than kissing babies,
not feeding us their lies that are so lame.
So you bailed out of the hot spots looking for a place to hide.
Didn’t matter what the zip code, if broadband was supplied.
There’s such a thing as nature, and it’s something we can share.
Just treat it like it’s delicate and see,
It teaches you about yourself, and what God has to offer
It’s never been about just you, or me.
The pace of life is slower, that’s a blessing in disguise.
And helping out your neighbors makes good sense.
It doesn’t hurt to get to know their names and occupations.
Not move right in and quickly build a fence.
You’ve overflown us many times, looked down and said, “How horrible.
Unfortunates that live down there, their lives must be Deplorable”.
“This is your captain speaking.
We have leveled off at our cruising altitude of 35,000 feet.
Feel free to move about the cabin.”
Don’t drag along the trappings of the life you left behind.
I guarantee they won’t bring sympathy.
Don’t criticize us just because we love The Constitution.
It guarantees the laws that keep us free.
We also would prefer that you don’t mess with parturition.
An unborn baby has a right to life.
We love our flag, we’d die for it, as others have before.
My Glock and Ruger help protect my wife.
We understand. We can forgive. But think of what you’ve said.
Especially now you choose to live in states that are so red.
“Oh say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming……”
We’re not so bad. We trust in God, just like our coins are stamped.
His hand has really blessed the USA.
But, if you plan to write Him off as if He doesn’t matter,
don’t think you’re going to steal our right to pray.
We’ll bend a little, not a lot. With patience you will find.
That living here in Bumpkin Land will bring you peace of mind.
“Oh beautiful for spacious skies, and amber waves of grain;
For purple mountains’ majesty above the fruited plain.
America, America, God shed His grace on thee,
and crowned thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea!””
AMEN…..
