‘Lectronics

6:38

Song Description:

A satirical look at our infatuation with electronics,

and it can lead to frustration when things go wrong.

Lyrics:

‘lectronics must be haunted, I can feel it in my phones.

They plague my life like terrorists, their defects I bemoan.

With longer-lasting batteries some follow me around.

They threaten to control my world, on this I could expound.

Hello, Hello, Hellooo, Hello, what’s wrong with this connection? I can’t hear you …

When I must meet a deadline, and my files are getting thick

my computer starts to falter, “Way to go, you little prick!”

My laptop is no better, cuz the error message shows

that its hard drive can’t be accessed; out the window it should go.

“ I wonder if Bill Gates or Steve Jobs ever had this problem?”

The camera that is mounted on my stairway near the door

meant to help me feel secure, it’s not recording anymore.

Seems like almost daily that I’m using sailor’s words

scolding monitors and printers, want to break them into thirds.

My internet connection, unpredictable at best,

may just need more time to buffer; it delays my start request.

My access could be limited while living in the sticks.

I’ll just have to wait ’til cable’s laid, or get some other fix.

“Damn it, Jim. I’m a doctor, not a geek!”

I thought that my opponent’s grave had already been dug,

when the war game that I’m playing burps, and kills me with a “bug”.

The placement of some checkpoints is a menace to my health.

Though it adds to my frustration, it improves PlayStation’s wealth.

“Hell, I’d urinate on my joystick, if it would help!”

Anticipate the upgrades, pack a lunch, go join the queue.

Could it be that we’re addicted, and have better things to do?

I guess that I am stuck with all this life-improving junk.

I just wish it all would work as planned, not leave me in a funk.

You’d think the inner workings of these testy little tools,

over time they’d make them simpler, so we wouldn’t look like fools.

But there’s children out there hacking into things that I should freeze.

Guess that shows to get results may not require advanced degrees.
