Lyrics:
Have you ever noticed
how your life is like a song.
How the instruments have meaning;
my opinion, right or wrong.
Parents set the cadence;
their advice was like the drums;
setting boundaries you could follow,
even helped you pick your chums.
Teachers in your life
I would compare to bass guitar,
building on your parent’s wisdom;
helping make you what you are.
Synthesizers, when they’re used,
play multitudes of sounds,
They represent the ones who’ve shared
all your ups and downs.
Violins can emphasize the highlights of our lives.
Serve to underscore the actions of the husbands or the wives.
Pianos fill the role to brighten or depress;
Like a spouse seen at the altar, or an enemy’s duress.
The “Prelude” is the time spent within your mother’s womb,
The “Chorus”, flows like days and weeks, repeating moon to moon.
Verses seem to be the years, when plenty, few despair.
The coda is the extra time survivors get to share.
Most important is the one
whose hand wrote all our lines,
He’s conducted all the instruments
since hist’rys early times.
Time signatures he’s chosen
and the genre, and the key.
HIs choir of angels are in place
to welcome you and me.
