Headlines

7:15

Song Description:

The power of the media is an ever-growing problem of our mass information society.

Headlines and soundbites are an ever-increasing derogatory influence on populations.

Being told a “story” rather than the truth is shaping our futures, and, being unchecked,

may become an evil force in many minds.

Lyrics:

Gun violence in Chi(shy)town has sunk to a new low. Intolerance for blacks the KKK says has to go.
And Hollywood is moving into homes in East L.A.
The Brits are happy Brexit failed thanks to Teresa May.

Headlines like these would catch your eye, unlikeliest of tales. You’d think it was the Twilight Zone the way reporters rail.
Think back have there been miracles once conferences convened Unless a higher power seemed to care and intervened.

“Bombshell” howls the media
They do it all the time.
To grab our flagging interest
with their less-than-true headlines…..Headlines…Headlines…

Examples of forgiveness would make statements on the news, As if we’re told to now believe that Muslims love the Jews.
Or what if Trump and the Democrats decided to promote
an immigration compromise for which they all would vote.

Headlines like these could soon revive my faith in humankind, if truth in fact they did pursue not thinking I was blind.
Project the future, what’s it like..are better things in store?
Or will unrest become a fight, perhaps a civil war?

“Bombshell”could be prophetic. But pray we don’t go there.
I’d rather fly the friendly skies,
no missiles in the air…..In the air…

It only drives a deeper wedge when someone grinds an axe, and strives for notoriety, when editors are lax.
What can we do, how do we choose, how can we ever cope when money spins the wheels of news, it’s just a slippery slope.

No easy answer can prevail, we can’t go back to “Start”
It takes a deeper mind than mine to prove it can be smart.
But leaving things just as they are is tearing us apart.
There’s darkness that has crept deep down into our nation’s heart.

“Bombshell” howls the media. They do it all the time.
To grab our flagging interest
with their less-than-true headlines.

What can we do, how do we choose, how could we ever cope? When money spins the wheels of news, it’s just a slippery slope.

Headlines…Headlines…Headlines…Oooh Headlines…Headlines…Headlines Oooh Oooh…Headlines…Headlines…Headlines…mmmmm ..Headlines…
