East Or West

5:41

Song Description:

People have free choice in the direction their lives take.

Though Satan throws sinful temptation at us, God makes

sure we have non-sinful options available.

Lyrics:

There’s a man inside of me who knows of what I think.

He exercises some control of when I swim or sink.

Alas, another inner voice that struggles for command

may orient me toward a way requiring reprimand…..Ooooh, East or West..

My life is like a compass, right and wrong should polarize,

but south may be deceiving when I can’t tell truth from lies.

Every time I’m tempted, God gives me an out.

Satan’s tricks could conquer, if I’m not devout…..Ooooh, East or West.

From day to day in games of life some rules get stretched or frayed.

When fault is mine I get rebuked, in moments when I’ve strayed..

When Satan’s traps are slyly sprung, intentions that were best

are left beside the road to die, no matter East or West…Ooooh

In times like these I need to ask forgiveness for my acts.

A Christian’s life is never perfect, those are just the facts.

Every time I’m tempted, God leaves me an out.

Satan’s tricks could conquer, if I’m not devout…Ooooh, East or West.

The conflict will continue ‘til the day I die.

My faith in Christ will overcome the evil if I try.

I know there’s guidance offered, in scripture that I’ve read.

The parables are learning guides that show the paths to tread….Ooooh, East or West.

It will be worth the effort hearing that I’ve won

congratulations from my Lord, “Good job”, He’ll say. “Well done…well done”.

Thus when I am tempted, I’ll look for the escape

That’s bound to be available, my thinking I’ll reshape.

There’s always going to be an out,

an option I should take.

I’ll watch for one. It will be there.

No need for a mistake.

Ooooh, East or West.

East or West.

East or West.

 East or West.
