Conflagration Nation

A song that describes the current state of our nation, challenging the listener to
pray on our behalf of our country and our soul, since God has promised
to listen and respond, if we all do so.

Lyrics:
We’re facing conflagrations, though they’re not all in the trees.
We’re fighting ones called ISIS, and corruption, and disease.
When looking back through hist’ry we see sinfulness on board,
bringing tensions that when kindled, made their countries go to war.
Ooooooh, Oooooh……
We’ve overlooked the fact that for a fire to be controlled,
our efforts must be constant just to keep the embers cold.
Everyone is looking for the leader of their dreams.
They think almost by magic he’ll bring changes to the scene.
Oooooh, Oooooh…….
God vowed to save our nation,
if we come to him in prayer.
His timing isn’t known to us.
By faith we know he’s there.
We’ve got to look to someone who can keep emotions calm.
Who’d see mankind’s shortcomings, but have no need for the bomb.
There are those we won’t convince, that Satan has controlled.
But Christ has promised guidance if we do as we’ve been told.
Oooooh, Oooooh, Oooooh, Oooooh……
The fires on earth are temp’r’l, though that doesn’t mean to say
that we shouldn’t pay attention; we are tested every day.
The ultimate firefighter’s told us he is coming back.
He hopes to hear us praying so he’ll know that we’re on track.
Oooooh, Oooooh……
He’s promised us protection,
if we come to him in prayer.
Yes we’re going to see his face,
when we meet him in the air.
We should all consider praying for our country and our souls.
There could be a vast improvement, if we’d rearrange our goals.
God’s hoping that we turn to him; his son bought our salvation.
But we’ve got to change the thinking of our conflagration nation.
Oooooh, Oooooh……
There’s flames around that cost us
much in lives and property.
But Satan’s conflagration’s
not the place you’d like to see.
No, it’s not a destination where you’d ever want to be.
Oooooh, Oooooh, Oooooh, Oooooh……..
